01Is ZapYap free?
Yes. Everything is free for now, including AI chat. We'll always keep a generous free tier, and we'll tell you clearly before any paid plans arrive.
02Can ZapYap see my passwords?
No. Your vault is encrypted on your device before it syncs, so we can't read it. Only you can.
03Is AI chat private?
It depends on the model you pick. Local models run on your phone, so your messages are processed on your device. Cloud models are processed by our AI providers, so don’t paste passwords or other secrets into those chats. Your vault always stays end-to-end encrypted.
04I got a new phone. How do I get my 2FA codes back?
Install ZapYap on the new phone and log in with your master password. After you approve the new device by email, your 2FA codes are right where you left them.
05I forgot my master password. What now?
Choose “Forgot password” on the login page and follow the email we send. Have your backup key ready: your vault is end-to-end encrypted, so we can't unlock it without that key. Keep it somewhere safe.
06Which devices does ZapYap work on?
iPhone and Android phones, plus Chrome and Edge through our browser extension.
07Is there an API for developers?
Not yet. It's on our roadmap, but we don't have a date to share.
08What are ZapYap AI and ZapYap chat?
They're separate apps in the ZapYap family. ZapYap AI has AI companions, a self-writing diary, meal logging and a free image and document toolbox. ZapYap chat is for team and community messaging. Unlike your vault, ZapYap AI runs on our servers.
