Delete Your Account

This page explains how to delete your ZapYap account and what happens to your data when you do. It applies to the ZapYap apps published by ZapYap, including ZapYap — Your Security Pal (com.zapyap.app) and ZapYap AI.


Deleting Your ZapYap AI Account In-App

You can delete your own ZapYap AI account at any time, without contacting us:

  • Sign in to ZapYap AI.
  • Go to Settings → Profile → Delete account.
  • Confirm the deletion when prompted.

Your account is deactivated immediately and permanently erased after a 30-day grace period. Signing back in during that window cancels the deletion.


What Is Deleted

When your account is erased, we remove:

  • your account and profile details, including your email address and name;
  • your sign-in credentials and session records;
  • your chats with companions and the facts a companion remembered about you;
  • your diary and mood entries;
  • your meal photos and the estimates generated from them;
  • your reminder schedules and push-notification keys; and
  • files you uploaded to the image and document tools.

Deleting your account also cancels any active subscription. Copies of deleted content may persist briefly in backups before they are cleared.


What Is Retained

We keep only minimal, de-identified billing and transaction records where we are required to retain them for accounting, tax, and legal purposes. These records are no longer linked to your profile and are not used to contact you or to rebuild your account.


Deleting Content Without Deleting Your Account

You do not have to delete your whole account to remove your data. From within the app you can delete individual files, chats, companions, remembered facts, and diary or meal entries, and keep using the rest of the Service.


A Note on the ZapYap Password Manager

The ZapYap password manager stores your vault with end-to-end encryption, so we cannot read its contents. Deleting your account removes the encrypted vault data we hold for you, and it cannot be recovered afterwards. Export anything you still need before you request deletion.
